Dalkia launches France's first integrated energy efficiency management platform: the Dalkia Energy Savings Center

Yesterday, Dalkia launched France's first integrated energy efficiency management platform, the Dalkia Energy Savings Center (DESC). For the area that it covers, the DESC associates both a digital and a human network to make energy savings. This first center, located in Paris's La Défense business district, is in charge of the energy management of 1,100 installations managed by Dalkia in the Ile-de-France region including and surrounding Paris.

The aim of this innovative DESC is to produce energy savings by reducing the consumption of buildings. It is the only such "smart energy" service in France to cover an entire area. The specially designed and equipped data processing system enables the DESC to unite, in a single place, all of the expertise of Dalkia to manage the energy performance of buildings in a given area. From the center, the company's experts can supervise and steer in real time the energy use of the buildings managed (residential and commercial buildings, leisure and sport facilities, hospitals, schools). The DESC combines the rapidity of information technologies with the on-theground capacity of intervention provided by the 8,000 Dalkia technicians who work directly in customer service.

In the wake of the first DESC in Paris-La Défense, six other centers are being deployed in France: two will be up and running in 2013, the other four in 2014. Eventually, the DESCs will be extended to all sites covered by Dalkia worldwide, especially industrial sites, major commercial buildings and hospitals.

Through its DESC concept, Dalkia offers a comprehensive solution combining energy renovation, optimization of technical equipment and control consumption to ensure strong and sustainable energy savings.

"The Dalkia Energy Savings Center is the first industrial-scale energy-saving system of its type in France. At Dalkia, we have generated an average of 20% energy saving on our contracts. Our ambition with the DESC is to double this figure. It is a unique at the service of our country's energy transition."
