Veolia China's Waterl’Ogic Innovative Water Network Solution Wins the France-China Committee Innovation Award

In October 2024, the Waterl’Ogic innovative water network solution independently developed by Veolia China's Municipal Water business line was selected as the winner project of the Category-Innovative Product by the France-China Committee.

The France-China Cooperation Team Innovation Award was launched on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2014, aiming to promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of innovation between the two countries. The innovation Award in 3 categories which are R&D Award, Innovative Product Award and Innovative Initiative Award. This year, the Veolia China Waterl’Ogic project stood out after rounds of selection and competition, and won the honor of Innovative Product.

Waterl’Ogic, known as The Digital Twin of the Drinking Water Distribution System, is an innovative solution for urban water supply networks developed by Veolia China's Municipal Water business line. This solution uses a digital twin technology based on a hydraulic model to achieve automatic updates of the web-based hydraulic model, solves the problem of difficult updates of the water company's model, and ensures the efficient and safe delivery of drinking water from the water plant to the end users.

Since its creation in 2019, Waterl’Ogic has been continuously innovating. Veolia's outstanding engineers develop modular functions according to actual application scenarios, including various hydraulic and water quality simulation scenarios. Its user-friendly interface allows non-professionals to easily and quickly create their own simulation solutions, helping every decision; Waterl’Ogic also holds predictive, alarm, and traceability functions, providing all-round assistance for urban pipe network operations.

Waterl'Ogic can realize real-time monitoring of the entire pipeline network and be used to provide scientific decision-making for scenarios such as pipeline planning, operation scheduling, flushing, valve management, and water quality management. It is an indispensable decision-making tool for efficient operations of the drinking water distribution network.

In China, Waterl’Ogic has been successfully applied in cities including Shanghai, Kunming, Tianjin, and Changzhou, with a total water network length of more than 20,000 kilometers, serving a population of 18.5 million people, greatly improving the pipe network management abilities of water companies and achieving efficient management of water supply networks.

Since 2022, Waterl’Ogic has been evaluated by Veolia Group's headquarters as a highly potential innovative project. Teams from China and France jointly organized product upgrade development and promoted this successful case to markets around the world. Currently, Waterl’Ogic has been successfully implemented in the Montpellier region of France.

Based on the successful global implementation of Waterl’Ogic, Veolia China is keen to provide more intelligent innovative solutions through continuous innovation in the future, depicting a sustainable green development future for China and the world.
