The Veolia Environnement Foundation mobilizes with partners to supply potable water to Philippines typhoon victims

After a natural disaster such as that in the Philippines, it is vital to provide people in stricken areas with access to basic services. Emergency humanitarian aid focuses on health, water and sanitation to avoid epidemics. Supplying potable water is a priority, which is why the Veolia Environnement Foundation is mobilizing alongside its partners.

Co-organised by Veolia China, China Society for Environmental Services and Green Living magazine, “Little Green Scouts- Veolia Green Action” officially commenced on June 3 at Beijing Xicheng District Fendou Elementary School.

Food and beverage

Water is one of the first ingredients used when manufacturing food, as process water for beverages, ready meals or dairy products. It is also a processing aid used throughout the process (cleaning water, transport water), as well as an energy utility when used as steam or for refrigeration (boiler feed water, cooling water, ice for preservation). In addition, food production sites must now comply with numerous requirements in the sanitary, economic and environmental domains.

The Combined Shareholders' Meeting of Veolia Environnement took place at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, under the chairmanship of Mr. Antoine Frérot, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
