Sinopec selects Veolia for 25-year contract to optimize the water cycle in its Yanshan Petrochemical complex, located in a high water stress region 50 km from Beijing. Landfill-Gas-to-Energy
Landfill gas is a mix of methane and carbon dioxide. Methane is a flammable toxic greenhouse gas twenty times more damaging to the climate than carbon dioxide. Instead of going into the atmosphere and becoming a greenhouse gas which is harmful to the environment, it can be collected in every landfill and used to produce renewable energy.
